We want each of our students to discover the joy of art while being given the freedom to make their own creative choices. Therefore, the focus of our lessons is not on the aesthetic value of the finished piece or the quantity of pieces completed but rather the thoughtful process of each artist and the risks they take in bringing a piece to life.

Children are presented with a lesson introducing an artist, skill or technique and are encouraged to experiment with it in his or her own way. There are no step-by-step directions or prescribed method as we believe these inhibit the creative process as children work to imitate the piece perfectly.

Teachers enjoy sitting at the table creating along with the students sharing their thought process and modeling the importance of taking risks as opposed to perfection.

We strive to present our lessons in a way that allow the children to appreciate the beauty of art while encouraging their artistic imagination.
